Compression fittings
Compression stockings only work well when they fit well. We measure you properly so that you get the right size and the right level of support.
What are compression stockings?
Compression stockings are snug-fitting garments that apply gentle, graduated pressure to the legs to help blood flow back toward the heart. They can help with tired, achy or swollen legs.
Who may benefit
- People with leg swelling or varicose veins
- People who spend long hours standing or sitting
- Travellers on long flights or car trips
- During pregnancy, or as advised by your healthcare provider
Your fitting
- We measure your legs, usually at the ankle and calf, and sometimes the thigh.
- We help you choose a style, length and compression level that suit your needs and your doctor's advice.
- We show you how to put them on and take care of them.
Good to know
- The best time to be measured is in the morning, when swelling is lowest.
- Higher compression levels are often recommended by a doctor. Bring your prescription if you have one.
- Stockings wear out, so plan to replace them regularly.
- Check with your doctor before using compression if you have poor circulation in your legs, nerve damage, or a skin infection.
- Insurance coverage varies, so please ask us.
